Flamingos, Painted Storks & Migratory Waders
Journey through the lagoons and salt pans of Bundala and the wetlands of Kumana to witness spectacular congregations of flamingos, painted storks, spoonbills, and hundreds of migratory waders. These two Ramsar-designated wetlands form the most important waterbird habitat in Sri Lanka. Between November and April, thousands of migrants arrive from Siberia, Central Asia, and Europe to join resident waterbirds in a spectacular avian gathering. Your specialist guide will help you clock up over 150 species in just 4 days.
