Makandawa Forest Reserve (hi)

Makandawa Forest Reserve is a pristine rainforest located across the kelani river in Kitulgala. Designated as a forest reserve, it is one of the most richly biodiverse areas in Sri Lanka, second only to the Sinharaja Rain Forest.

For nature lovers, crossing the river by traditional canoe to enter the dense, emerald canopy of Makandawa is an adventure in itself.
